grey summer?

grey summer toque

grey summer toque

just in time for summer's arrival, and the 30 degree heat, i finished up this wool toque. the pattern is golden autumn by lucy sweetland, but because of the dismal start to summer we had been having - not to mention the lovely grey merino - i named it my 'grey summer'. but since then, gorgeous sunny days have set in, with no immediate end in sight. this means that this toque will slip to the backburner for awhile, but i think it will be just the thing once the days start to crisp up a bit again come autumn. full details can be found on ravelry.

are you enjoying beautiful weather too, or having a few grey days here and there? the haze that was taking over the landscape (supposedly from wildfires in siberia!) has lifted a bit today and beautiful blue skies are back again in time for the weekend. i'm hoping to get myself up to my elbows in strawberries as the local organic farm, and get out for some paddling. what are your weekend plans?

our summer never started--we're still in the 50Fs with lots of drizzle. but that also means fire season hasnt started in AK as far as i know...

this weekend i'm making tonic water and doing some bikram to warm up.

We have by passed summer and gone straight to autumn. I have never seen so much rain. A constant thing since May. Literally I can probably count the rain free days on my fingers. Last night we had the heating on. Its mid July for goodness sake!

nothing but sunshine here and the brief time it did rain over the last week, it was a sun shower. I hope to spend time with family and friends and enjoy an open garden day at the most beautiful garden in our little town.

I have almost the same weather as you, although it is often hotter here in the Fraser Valley. We are expecting thunder showers today! I didn't know about the haze though. Thanks for telling me it's from fires. Interesting.

we've got a friend coming in and plan to take her to the country fair. it's a bit of a "thing", and i do always feel a bit square surrounded by all the flamboyance. nevertheless, we have a good time, and i think it'll be a fun sensory trip for our visitor.
